Back to Blogging!!

Yes so after getting chastised by my beloved sister-in-law, Angie, I am back to blogging!!! So sorry I've been a major slacker but now I'm going to for sure get back blogging since it's "the cool thing to do!" So here are some fabulous pictures of the Bailey Family getting together for the big Luau!(Thanks, Angie, for the pics.) It was Mom's 60th birthday party in combination with Dad's retirement party! It was just like a family reunion! What fun times! We had to have the party at Mom and Dad's house and garage since there was inclement weather. We originally were going to have the big party at Dan and Angie's beautiful huge backyard that they worked so hard on!! But we all had a great time anyways!! Thanks for the great party Baileys!!

Vacations!

Well it is already almost June and I am just now writing my second entry!! I have the hardest time sitting down and making the time to work on my blog so all you people will have to bear with me! Anyways, we went on a family vacation for pretty much the first time with our girls! We went to San Diego for about a week. We went to the beach on one day, spent a few days at Seaworld, and went to the zoo. We had a great time. It was nice to just get away for a bit but it is always nice to be back home and I think we appreciate what we have back at home a lot more!! Hopefully I can get some pictures on here! I'm going to try it as soon as I'm done yakking. We stayed over in the Mission Beach area and stayed in a vacation rental, which worked out pretty nice. For anyone who is going on a vacation for more than 3 days at a time, I highly recommend looking up vacation rentals online because it ends up being more affordable rather than staying in a hotel. So for anyone who is interested, I found a website called www.VRBO.com and then you can just type in where you want to go and look up different condos or homes to rent. The one we stayed at suited our purposes but next time I think we will stay right on the beach because a block and a half makes a difference and it is so much easier to be right on the beach!! But since we only spent one day at the beach it worked out okay for us this time. Seaworld was entertaining for the girls. Ari loved the sea lions and the dolphin show was really amazing! Those things are so smart!

Right before we made our way home last Friday, we stopped in Carlsbad and went to the Strawberry fields to pick our own strawberries. The girls had a good time, although if it wasn't so cold that day, I think they would have enjoyed their time a little more. Those strawberries are the best though. They are so sweet. We loved picking them and then just eating them one by one. That will definitely be a tradition of ours whenever we go to California and when it's strawberry season because those were delicious! Hopefully I can post those pictures on here too!

Right now Robert is in Lake Powell having a great time with his brother and brothers-in-law. I went and bought a tent especially for this trip because in our whole seven years of marriage, we have only gone camping once and that was in a huge tent my mom gave us and so I decided it was about time we got ourselves a smaller cozier one so what better time than now to just go buy one and then maybe he and I can someday going on a little overnighter!
He said it's a cute tent and very easy to set up so that is a plus. I just talked to Robert on the phone a little while ago and he told me a funny story about what all of them did lastnight. Okay so they were at Walmart in Page and had to get quite a few extra supplies and things for their camping trip and so after they picked everything out that they needed they went and were just about to the lake and realized that they had left their shopping cart at walmart after already paying for everything!! They just paid for their things and left and then like I don't know how much time later, they realized they forgot all of their stuff and mind you, they had quite a few things!! It looks like the guys aren't the designated shoppers at home, thank goodness!! They are out of practice. So when he told me that I was just laughing so hard. Oh men--what would they be without us women??

Getting Started!!

Hello!! I'm finally starting to catch up with the technology and get a family blog going! I hope I am doing this right so we will see. Getting pictures on here will be another thing for me to learn but I am open to it and will just make the time to post pictures!! Last fall is when I finally broke down and bought a digital camera and then at Christmastime, Robert got me an Ipod (which I am still learning, but I think I at least know the basics) and now I am going to attempt this blog thing that everyone has been talking about. My little brain can only handle one thing at a time.

So just a little rundown about our family...Robert and I have been married for almost 7 years in June and what a long, wonderful, growing journey it has been for us!! We got married here in St. George and 3 weeks later we moved to Phoenix, Arizona so I could start court reporting school which I would like to pick up again at another season in my life. About a year later, Robert got on with Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) which moved us out to Globe which is about 90 miles east of Mesa. We were there for a year and then decided to transfer back up to St. George while we had the chance since it is such a high demand area to live. We are certainly blessed to be able to live in Utah but be paid Arizona wages, although we pay heavily in taxes to Utah. Robert patrols the 30 mile stretch of Arizona highway from here to Mesquite, NV. He is a very good, dedicated officer and enjoys it for the most part.

We have 2 beautiful girls who we love so much. We just can't imagine our life without them now!! They play well together and keep each other company! Ariana is almost four years old and has a very strong-willed personality. She is really bright and loves to go to preschool where her Aunt Teresa is her wonderful teacher. Ariana loves to play out in our backyard on the trampoline and in her new playhouse. She always likes to have friends come over and play and gets along well with everyone(except for times when her mother tries to discipline her). Makenna is our free-spirited, carefree, fearless two-year old. She just turned two on
Saint Patrick's Day
and so we just love green in our family now! She has brought so much fun and life into our home. She loves to be a big helper and feed Mocha, our chocolate lab. When she puts food in her bowl, she says "here you go, Gocha!" She is also known as our lobster child because she will just come up to you and pinch you for no reason. We are hoping we can fade here out of this real soon. So just beware next time you are around her.

In a nutshell that is our family!!
